Truck series champion and Xfinity series winning team makes the jump to go full time MENCS racing in 2019 with a veteran driver.

This week GMS racing, a team that won a truck series championship with Johnny Sauter in 2016, and a Xfinity race at Talladega with Spencer Gallagher, have announced the jump to full time MENCS racing. The team announced that veteran MENCS driver A.J. Allmendinger, who up to now looked like he would be rideless, would compete for them. When asked about the opportunity, A.J. said:

“I feel honored that this team would pick me. i ran some Xfinity events for them in 2018 and I guess I impressed them enough. I hope we can get to victory lane because I know that this team can get there, it's just a matter of time until we do.”
